Driving Lessons – Terms & Conditions

 

These Terms & Conditions apply to all driving lessons and services provided by NxtGen Driving School.

 

1. Booking Lessons

• All driving lessons must be booked in advance and are subject to availability.

• By booking a lesson, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

• Lesson times are reserved specifically for you. Please arrive on time and be ready to start your lesson at the agreed time.

• If you are late, the lesson will normally still finish at the originally agreed time and the full lesson fee may remain payable.
 

2. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

• A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule a driving lesson.

• Cancellations or requests to reschedule made with less than 48 hours' notice may result in the full lesson fee being charged.

• If you fail to attend a lesson without providing notice, the full lesson fee will be payable.

• Exceptions may be considered at the instructor's discretion in genuine emergencies or exceptional circumstances.

• If your instructor needs to cancel or reschedule a lesson, you will be offered an alternative appointment at a mutually convenient time.
 

3. Refund Policy

• Payments for lessons are generally non-refundable once the lesson has taken place.

• Where a lesson is cancelled with at least 48 hours' notice, any payment already made may be transferred to another lesson or refunded, where applicable.

• Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice are normally non-refundable, unless the cancellation is due to exceptional circumstances agreed by the instructor.

• Any unused prepaid lessons may be refunded at the instructor's discretion, subject to any applicable terms relating to block bookings or promotional offers.

• Refunds, where approved, will normally be made to the original payment method.
 

4. Block Bookings & Prepaid Lessons

• Block bookings must be paid for in advance.

• Block-booking discounts or promotional rates may not be available on individual lessons if the block booking is cancelled or partially used.

• Any refund relating to unused lessons from a block booking will be calculated based on the standard individual lesson rate, where applicable.
 

5. Driving Licence & Legal Requirements

• Pupils must hold a valid provisional driving licence before undertaking lessons on public roads.

• Pupils are responsible for informing the instructor of any medical condition, medication or other circumstance that could affect their ability to drive safely and legally.

• The instructor reserves the right to refuse a lesson if they believe the pupil is not fit or legally permitted to drive.
 

6. Test Bookings

• All test bookings must be paid in advance.

• Pupils are responsible for ensuring they have the correct details for their driving test and for providing sufficient notice if a lesson needs to be arranged around a test.

• The instructor cannot guarantee the availability of a vehicle for a driving test unless this has been specifically agreed and booked in advance.

• Any test-day cancellation charges will be discussed separately where applicable.

• The instructor’s decision is final regarding readiness for the driving test and the use of the school car.

7. Safety

• The instructor's priority is the safety of the pupil, instructor and other road users.

• The instructor may terminate or postpone a lesson if they believe continuing would be unsafe.

• Pupils must follow reasonable instructions given by the instructor during lessons.
 

8. Weather & Road Conditions

• Lessons may be cancelled or postponed due to severe weather, unsafe road conditions or other circumstances outside the instructor's control.

• Where possible, reasonable notice will be provided and the lesson will be rearranged without penalty.

9. Instructor Availability

• While every effort will be made to maintain scheduled lessons, circumstances such as illness, vehicle problems, emergencies or other unforeseen events may occasionally require a lesson to be cancelled or rearranged.

• The instructor will provide as much notice as reasonably possible in such circumstances.
 

10. Communication

• Pupils should provide accurate and up-to-date contact details.

• Any changes to lesson arrangements should be communicated as soon as possible.

• Messages regarding cancellations or rescheduling should be sent directly to the instructor using the agreed contact method.

11. Agreement

By booking and/or attending a driving lesson, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

 

48-hour cancellation policy: Please remember that your lesson time is reserved specifically for you. Less than 48 hours' notice may result in the full lesson fee being charged.
