Provisional driving licence
Get your first provisional driving licence for a car, motorbike, moped or other vehicle from DVLA online. To apply you must:

be at least 15 years and 9 months old

be able to read a number plate from 20 metres away

have been given permission to live in Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) for at least 185 days
It costs £34 when you apply online.
If you applied for a provisional licence before 1 March 1973 you’ll need to use this service to get a new licence.
View or share your driving licence information
You can view or share your driving licence information if your licence was issued in England, Wales or Scotland.
Use this service to:

view your driving record, for example vehicles you can drive

check your penalty points or disqualifications
-
create a licence ‘check code’ to share your driving record with someone, for example a car hire company
The check code will be valid for 21 days.

Check if a vehicle is taxed and the MOT status
Find out if a vehicle has up-to-date vehicle tax or has been registered as off the road (SORN).
If you’ve applied for vehicle tax or a SORN, it can take up to 2 working days for the records to update once your application has been approved.
You’ll need the vehicle’s registration number (number plate).

Book your theory test
Book your driving theory test online, you will need your UK driving license number, email address and credit or debit card.
